Gleich beim ersten Treffen, im November 2003, entstand der erste Song: „Let’s get free“ - das ist das Ziel nach dem Sebastian und Stefan bis heute streben. Frei zu sein, menschlich und musikalisch. Den Mut zu haben, zu entdecken und zu sein, wie man wirklich sein will - das versuchen A Reel Gallery zu transportieren.

Die musikalischen Ziele heißen Dynamik, Eigenständigkeit, Emotionalität. Geprägt von Singer-Songwritern in einem Ohr (Damien Rice, Sufjan Stevens oder Rocky Votolato), im anderen Ohr laute, experimentierfreudige Bands (Dredg, Sigur Rós, Explosions in the Sky), gehören sowohl ruhige Balladen über Liebe und Leben als auch explosive Songs über die Abgründe des Menschen und dieser Welt zum Repertoire von A Reel Gallery.
